I'm Bringing Photog Back!

Sounds like Justin and Timberland, take it to the bridge. One of my first loves, photography. I've got the equipment, I've got the scenery, what's the hold up? I found some motivation from Darcy at my3boybarians. Every Tuesday she invites everyone to link up their favorite photos from the week. On Occasions like this week there are prizes to win. This was actually taken last fall but it's been that long since I've 'shot' anything for fun.

ately I have been super excited to get the boys down for naps so I can sew. I've not sewn in quite a while but every time I pick it back up I realize how much I love it. First I grabbed "the pants that were" and this lovely orange material. Want to see what I made? It may not be uber fantastic or anything but I think I'll love it for forever...

...and ever.


My first clutch and hair bow. 
I was given an orange shirt that didn't really flatter me. I loved the color and didn't want to trash donate it (I'm afraid to say but I'm a bit of a hoarder). The brown material came from the "pants that were". Yes I owned a pair of brown pleather pants, faux leather FO-REAL! Srsly Christy, Really?Well, back then I thought I looked good. That's my excuse.

Wordless Wednesday zero energy

ays are getting shorter. I'm waiting and waiting, dreaming those crazy dreams where my belly is no longer huge-huge just huge lol. I've got so many questions, and they have to wait too. What are we having? According to my Intelliceuticals Review we're having a... even so we're still uncertain. I really do like it that way. Labor is well... work and what better reward to find out what "it" is. Even in this picture I'm trying to be patient.

Wordless WednesdayCrazy Confetti

It still amazes me what joy a simple mess can bring to the hearts of my little Princesses. What's wrong with a little mess every now and then? I can count on my hands how many times I've allowed a crazy day and sadly it's less than ten. Gladly the girls remember everyone too. The time we played in the mud and threw mud balls up against our storage building, when we made Christmas cookies and the girls painted their own cookies like paint, playing with play-dough on the kitchen floor, and ripping up and throwing confetti into the air. Their faces still light and they remember it like it was yesterday. It's okay to make a bit of a mess sometimes, it's just paper :)

This past weekend my family got one of the highest honors, in my book. We got to do a photoshoot with one our amazing talented friends. The day started out chilly and all afternoon the kids and I were bundled up. A few hours before the shoot the sun popped out and the sweaters came off. Great photos are one thing but these photos are simply beautiful.

Wordless Wednesdaylil sis PrincessJ

This week it's lil sis' turn and I simply just love this picture. This little girl has to be the hottest fire cracker, spit fire, strong willed, highly determined child I know. Does anyone else have one like this? I love how she is 100% everything, all over the place, rarely sits still, make you laugh, but don't make her mad sweet pea! See how she is even checking out big sis from the corner of her eye? Watch out ;) Love you baby girl! (she is now 4 but like all my kiddos will always be my baby)

Wordless Wednesday It's been a minute...

Gosh I haven't posted a wordless wednesday in a long time. One reason is I have camera block, we got a new camera and I don't know a whole lot about it. Mr. Dreamy has configured it to do all this cool stuff but in the process it makes the easy things harder for me so I just haven't been uploading the pictures. Now the camera is full of stuff from months ago.

WordlessWednesdayBlueberry Muffins

How can you not love blueberries? I don't get it, they are sweet, good for you, and blue (well purple). My MIL gets all disgusted when I talk about making these. Weird. I found a recipe with a cinnamon streusel type topping and they are oh so good. We just bought a house and the first we went to use the oven it did not work. I baked like crazy for a month or two just because.

Let's Get started... Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Now get all your ingredients together.

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup white sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 egg
1/3 cup milk
1 cup fresh blueberries
1/2 cup white sugar
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup butter, cubed
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Directions:
Grease muffin cups or line with muffin liners.
Combine 1 1/2 cups flour, 3/4 cup sugar, salt and baking powder. Place vegetable oil into a 1 cup measuring cup; add the egg and enough milk to fill the cup. Mix this with flour mixture. Fold in blueberries. Fill muffin cups right to the top, and sprinkle with crumb topping mixture.
To Make Crumb Topping: Mix together 1/2 cup sugar, 1/3 cup flour, 1/4 cup butter, and 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon. Mix with fork, and sprinkle over muffins before baking.
I usually cut the topping in half because I always had tons left over. Maybe I didn't pack enough on the tops.

Bake for 20 to 25 minutes in the preheated oven, or until done.

My Blog is Carbon Neutral

Mr. Dreamy took this tree picture with our new camera straight off the charger, he couldn't wait to get started. Also I thought it appropriate to go along with this 'go green' type post for my "Wordless Wednesday".

A study showed the average blog with 15,000 visitors emitted aprox. 8lbs of carbon dioxide a year. I don't think I have the many visitors but some do and they will plan more trees accordingly to each domain that registers.

The Mission: 1 Blog, 1 Tree

The trees will be planted in the spring of 2010 by the Arbor Day Foundation. Want more more information on where the trees are planted and more about this program?

Wordless Wednesday Grandma's PB Cookies

1c Peanut Butter
1c Sugar

1 Egg

Mix it all together,

spoon out onto cookie sheet, and flatten with a fork in a cross pattern.

Bake at 350 for 8-10min. Add that 4th ingredient just for fun.
