Leaping - Fall or Fly

This...
is totally speaking to me. I feel like I'm right here and been here many times before but here I am again. Where anxiety, worry, and fear of failure are all  holding me back but deep inside I know I was meant to fly. So I'm left with this constant depressive pit in my gut.

If I were speaking to my kids I'd gently coax our coach them to take that first step and if that didn't work I'd push or throw them off to prove their disbelief was wrong. So what's the difference between us? My disbelief. I haven't believed in my dreams enough. My belief hasn't come from a place of confidence in my God-given gifts and passions.

Rounding the track for the completion of this year's race my focus is on a ledge, concentrating on not falling off, and creating a flight plan by reading more flight giving words that counter my disbelief.

I'm a Stella & Dot Stylist - Eeeeeeek!

Honestly, I can say I've stalked Stella & Dot for a few years. Yep, stalked. I'm a stalker and I don't feel the least bit creepy :) I was first introduced to the company coincidentally through the blogging world. I was HUGE into giveaways and reviews (which I still love) and saw this awesome jewelry popping up all over the place. I visited their website, requested a Look book and got in touch with a stylist. Talk about blown away, I was hooked ever since!

I've sold through many direct sales companies. MANY, really too many and know an awesome opportunity when I see one. But was it a good opportunity for me? At that time I didn't think so. I didn't last longer than a year in those said companies. In 2011 was trying to focus on my blog, I was volunteering at church several times a week, we'd just bought our first home and I was due to have my 4th baby. I was swamped with duties and I couldn't feasibly add another one.

Fast forward to the present and little has changed with what's on my plate. I'm now homeschooling 4 kiddos, we have an 8mo baby boy, hubby has launched his photog biz with Real Xpressions Photography, the house we bought is still nowhere near home,y and we have one car that can not hold the entire family (there are seven of us). Back then doesn't seem so busy anymore.

So why now, life is even crazier! I believe maybe then wasn't a great time for me but what if I'd made that jump anyways, where would I be now? I think God has a plan for my life, he's set me up on many platforms to speak to the masses, now is a godly time. I now believe in myself which hasn't been the case for the majority of my life. God has been working on me a great deal and this is a tool I'll use to reach women, moms, daughters regardless if they shop, host, or join. I am a light and this is simply one of my many rays :) Wish me luck, send me prayers, and watch what God can do.

I've started a styling blog over at Haute Dot even though the details aren't even official. I plan to join up  in either June or July hoping the sooner the better :)

For all the wrong reasons

ome-Mom is quickly approaching the 2yr mark. It was June 2009 when I decided on the direction Home-Mom would take. Before it was my personal blog to talk about all the things I did at home, Cook - Craft - Homeschool - Homebirth - Family. The road I went down was for all the wrong reasons. First let me say I love blogging, reading other blogs, giveaways, deals, twitter parties, I could really go on...

Since I loved giveaways so much I thought I'd pull from my personal blog (Home-Mom) and solely post for products, host giveaways and reviews and possibly make some money. In the first year I did make a little bit of cash but it cost me my time. So as a mother of three then I would spend hours dealing with my blog and really in the long run it wasn't all that important. I did it thinking I'd receive products I needed or would actually use and there have been quite a few of those products that I still stand by (Kids 'N' Pets, now that stuff worked wonders). But others, eh.

I've built this tiny platform and it seems no one is listening. I mean I know a few of you are but not all 1,949 fans, 531 followers, and 584 subscribers. Those were goals I worked really hard to achieve but I've looked at you all as just numbers. The higher the numbers then the better the status, right? Companies will work with a blogger with high numbers. That really is great for the blogs that do this, I just don't want to do it anymore. It's the people I'd love to connect with, I mean that's why I visit Make it and Love it, Made by Dana, The Pioneer Woman, and a few others. If getting and giving free product comes my way of course I'll take it but I don't want that to be my only reason for being.

Sorry if this sounds like a pity party, it's not meant to be. I'm just motivated to do some good for Mom's and their Homes. I'm still not sure what but I want to help others and this platform can help me do that. After winning that $1,000 from Nissan's Twitter Party my heart swelled to use momMADE to give back not to just get more. So things are definitely in the works, I'm still here but working in the back cutting cords to things weighing me down. The companies I've worked with have been great! I love the relationships I've built and the sense of accomplishment for helping build brands I truly believe in.

The Mom Behind Her Home is a amazing series where I get to showcase a Mom who needs more support or awareness. Today I'll be combining the series with my HomeMomGiftGuide because sometimes it's better to give than receive. I'm adding a Mother whom I personally got to know a few years ago before she moved to Nashville to pursue her dreams. Her name is Luci Lampe and she needs our help.

Luci, originally from Peru, is a mother to 2 beautiful little girls. When we met she had 1 and I had 2 so you know that was a while ago. We met in our church choir and got to know each other while feeding our babies in the nursery. When she told me she loved to sing I had no idea she could SANG! In her own words watch this video about her KickStarter project and the support she is looking to gain.

The Mom Behind Her Home: JulieBGreen's Plush Pals Review

My littlest man loves his new toy. This is Jake (formerly known as Jack). Hes soft, cuddly, and likes long jumps by the pond. You'd think he'd like to eat flies, but instead he enjoys fruit smoothies with spinach. No seriously they are GOOD.

Beginning with this review I'd like to share more than just about the great products I purchase or receive but more about the moms behind their homes. Moms who see a need and fill it financially in their own lives or want to be a solution to problems they see in the world around us.

Julie is a stay at home mom to four children from Oklahoma (just like me and a fellow Okie!!!) She pretty much runs the show. I have a lot to learn from Julie as I aspire to make and sell from home with momMADE.
I love that most of her buttons she uses on her creations come from her Grandmother. What a treasure! Everything Julie makes to sell comes from her heart. Her work is an expression of who she is and it really does show in her craftsmanship.

Jake is super soft with fleece eyes, a must, as he's my youngest son's new crib mate. It's hard to believe he is now 10mos old! The eyes were of some concern as he's cutting 4 new teeth for a total of 6. I've tugged on the eyes and they aren't going anywhere. Plus if he did some how get them off (it's possible) the soft fleece would be more pleasant for him then hard buttons.

I think placing toys like this in his crib is a great way to introduce routine. His association with his crib and nap are both familiar and fun. When he wakes up he has old Jake here to keep him company until mommy can come and get him.
