Expecting? Great Mom Deals on Zulilly 6/3

June 4, 2014

Look at these great Maternity must-haves on zulily.com today. There are quite a few must haves for all expecting and new moms... I wrote a post about my top list here.

Luckily Zulily has La Leche League International items listed at up to 55% off. From nursing pads and bras, hands-free pumps, and pjs. Breastfeeding moms are covered.

Considered cloth for when the little one arrives? Read my cloth posts here. Zulily has Little Monsters cloth diapers at over 60% off. CDs can range anywhere from $10 - 40 a pop so this is a real steal type of deal!

Never heard of Zulily?

You never know exactly what you'll uncover, but you know gems are waiting. The day's bounty might be whimsical. Classic. Trendy.  They search far and wide to find the best deals for you. But remember to shop early and often because when deals are gone they're really gone.

Inspired by an American Ninja Warrior (contestant)

June 3, 2014

I'm guessing it was the season premier but my family and I watched American Ninja Warrior last night. We didn't catch the show in it's entirety but I saw enough to be inspired by miss Amber Johnson. I loved her story, her hair cut, her style, but mostly her attitude.

You've seen my fitness struggles, I've been through quite a few challenges over the past few years. Some successful and others not so much but I'm no stranger to physical struggle. In my heart I know I'm an athlete but the past decade and a half I have not fully felt like one. Watch this video and tell me you aren't inspired...

Being inspired can't only be something that you get from others. There's been a mental change that has taken place in me in the past few months. I'm reading a great new book that's explaining a lot about my weight gain over the years and just being the example I get to be for my kids will be reward too. The change is I am where I am but do not have to stay here. Pregnant with baby #6 and still over 200lbs 3yrs after setting out on this journey feels unacceptable. I'm ready (I think) to do what needs to be done to break this cycle, this weight fight, and be the trim healthy mama I know I can be.

Gymbella/SheLivedHEA are all aliaes that are no longer and I've moved my fitness facebook posts to www.facebook.com/hautedot but still post as @ChristyHomeMom too.

My before preg weight was 213. I had just decided to get this body in shape Dec 31st in fact then found out we were expecting in Feb. So there could be some baby adage in there but I'll just stick with 213. Back in May of 2011 I posted that I weight 211. I then had two babies so I'm pretty much in the same boat I've been in for several years.

I'm ready to get out of this boat!

and I don't want a life preserver. This is sink or swim time. No, that's not right, I want to swim! My point is I'm 33 and it's not too late. I know plenty of women who've changed their lives and it can be done. I will.

I'm mapping out the smartest way to continue toning and building muscle while I'm pregnant, changes I'll need to make to ensure I keep my milk supply once the baby is born, and get to it. Thank you Amber Johnson. You had us cheering you on all the way and have a new fan :)

Life's about to get CRAZY!

June 11, 2012

Iam thinking about so much these days. This baby is just 3 months away eeeek!!!! I've dropped a lot of aspects of my blog. Homeschooling is rough, my kids are growing, and some days I feel like I just can't keep up. With all of that going on my kids are still smarter than me, I think that's my biggest obstacle. How can I teach them when I don't know. My blog is still impacting in a way I'm pretty proud of, I was featured today at WeGotKidz.com. Despite it all of this my baby is growing and kicking and will be here before I know it. Hubby's business is about to jump off the ground and soar, it's like a crazy pivotal moment for so many things and my first reaction is to fall down when I should be up and running.

Storm before the Storm source
Financially our world has been turned upside down this past year. Our one family car broke down forcing us to add on another payment (conveniently after we paid the first one off) and even though it's been a year it's like we're not catching up. I see these amazing posts by mommy bloggers who feed their families of 8 with a $100 monthly budget and I really need to head out and research these gals bc we're so there.

I read a really amazing verse today that spoke directly at my circumstance, “When we were at Mount Sinai, the LORD our God said to us, ‘You have stayed at this mountain long enough..'" http://bible.us/Deut1.6.NLT I'm following Joyce Meyer's Daily Devotional on YouVersion, it's amazing, seriously the only plan I've followed over 5days. The mountain that should have only taken 40 days took 40 years for the Israelites because they were mentally stuck in slavery still.

My oldest has asked me if we are poor and I really want to say yes but poor is a way of thinking and I don't want that. I don't want that for them, I'd love to hear them say when their older, "We were poor but we never knew it". We are on a serious budget but I don't see it lasting too much longer if I can just get up and move. I'll take 40days over 400 anytime. Anyone would, why make a hard journey more difficult.
The sun's up, Run! Source

So as I fix beans and rice for dinner again I'm thankful for a family to cook for. I'm grateful for the tool this blog has become to reach out to others and receive from so many awesome moms out there. I'm excited and scared to run a work from home business and do what we've always dreamed. Instead of the calm before the storm this is more like a storm before a storm and I'm ready.

I was featured...

November 29, 2010

She chose my picture... I'm so honored! No really I scanned back through my flickr group from my photography class I took in October to find some really sweet comments from my instructor. This isn't the kind of class you get graded on per se but I did get a whopping "you've improved" and "you should be really proud" on a few of my pictures. SWEET! I did really learn a lot from Faith's class, if photography is your thang and you don't have time for lengthy away from home classes check out Faith's Photography E-Classes.
